"Chronic pain is a thief. It breaks into your body and robs you blind. With lightning fingers, it can take away your livelihood, your marriage, your friends, your favorite pastimes and big chunks of your personality. Left unapprehended, it will steal your days and your nights until the world has collapsed into a cramped cell of suffering."

"Pain remains a blight on countless lives. In its many guises - migraine, arthritis, back pain - it causes more disability than cancer and heart disease combined. The psychological effects can be devastating, ranging from depression to anxiety and sleeplessness. And the annual cost, including treatment and lost workdays, now hovers around $100 billion in the United States."

Welcome to Arizona Pain Specialists
Reception area
From its inception in 1995, Arizona Pain Specialists has grown into one of the largest multi-disciplinary pain centers in the state of Arizona. The expansion of the clinic has been designed to emulate “University-level” pain treatment centers.

The multi-disciplinary approach for treatment of chronic pain has been supported by clinical experience, the medical literature and numerous pain societies as the most effective approach to these complicated medical conditions. Recently, both the American Pain Society and the American Academy of Pain Management endorsed the multidisciplinary approach to treatment of pain. The American Headache Society also advocates a multidisciplinary approach as the most effective for treatment of chronic headaches.

Interventional procedures are performed to the highest of medical standards, including use of fluoroscopy for all spine injections, to ensure patient comfort, reduce the possibility of complications and achieve the best possible results. Intravenous sedation is commonly employed during interventional procedures to provide the utmost in patient comfort.

Additionally, Arizona Pain Specialists provides all aspects of a non-interventional approach to chronic pain. Located within the Arizona Pain Specialists is Valley MRI & Radiology and other non-interventional specialists.

Valley MRI & Radiology provides on-site immediate MRI and x-ray imaging for our patients. This greatly expedites patient treatment and provides the attending physician with almost immediate radiologic images. This is a reflection of our philosophy that proper medical treatment is an extension of an accurate diagnosis. We also have the ability to perform bone density scans, which are recommended by numerous organizations to monitor for and treat osteoporosis.

Other medical services available at the clinic include a psychologist to evaluate and treat psychological issues surrounding chronic pain which may include anxiety, depression and anger. We also have a naturopathic physician who incorporates both conventional allopathic medicine with other forms of treatment, including nutritional advice and acupuncture. Our complete medical staff includes two highly trained chiropractors, who employ the full spectrum of chiropractic treatments including spinal axial deompression. This complete approach to pain assures our patients the most accurate diagnosis, a team-oriented approach and the widest spectrum of treatment options available in the state of Arizona.

This website is designed to provide information for both patients and referring physicians. We have included discussions about some of the most current topics in pain medicine. We hope that you find this site informative and useful. However, please be aware that the opinions expressed and other comments are offered for general guidance and information reasons only. Professional consultation should always be obtained for specific medical situations.
